A few months ago, my friend Janell of the Magnolia Bride team called to say she had a friend ready to open a new venue and would I be interested in helping with florals for a style shoot to promote the facility. An opportunity to be creative in a new venue with basically a blank slate?!?! Yes, please!
Janell went on to explain that her friend, Melissa had built a barn and lived in it before building her home in Lucedale. She wanted to turn the gorgeous barn into a new venue ready to host weddings and gatherings. The space would be called The Venue at Anderson Oaks. We all agreed on a time to meet there and develop plans. When I drove up, I didn’t expect such a gorgeous “barn.” The beautiful white barn was flanked with stained shutters and gorgeous landscaping. Inside, there is a gorgeous bridal suite and kitchen. The focal point, however, are a pair of stunning antique doors from the fabulous Charles Phillips Antiques. Outside, there are gorgeous trees and a huge oak, perfect for outdoor ceremonies.
Janell and her business partner Kassie designed the day, finding a stunning bride and handsome groom to play the role for the shoot. They wanted modern fall so it was tones of bronze, gold, green with mixes of pampas grass and coffee break roses. The bride carried a more neutral bouquet of “dish plate dahlias and moonstone roses with silver dollar and other muted tones. Our talented friend Leighann Rouch of Bluewaters Photography beautifully captured the day for all of us. I was thrilled to be part of the project.
